I am excited to announce I have been selected as a USDA 1890 National Scholar.
The 1890 land-grant institutions are HBCU's that were established under the Second Morrill Act of 1890.
The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program provides full tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, and room and board each year for up to 4 years to increase the number of minority students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food science, natural resource science, or a related academic discipline.

🚨 I am still looking for scholarships 🚨
I am waiting to hear back from many especially the USDA 1890 Scholarship which covers tuition and fees, housing and books. It also guarantees a job when I graduate.
I am applying to scholarships everyday.
If you have access to scholarships in STEM, agriculture, language, leadership and community service, please share it with me!
I finished high school a year early as the 1st junior to ever be dual-enrolled at my school and completing AP Spanish, AP Computer Science, AP US History. Over the summer I trained at Georgia Tech (Python & R Coding) and the University of Virgin Islands (USDA AgDiscovery Program) while taking college courses.
I am a dual enrolled, honors student leader and humanitarian. I know what it’s like not to have enough food to eat. That is why I am dedicated to creating multilingual agricultural tech solutions that solve the global food and hunger crisis. I am the first junior in my school’s history to pursue dual enrollment which I began while completing AP Spanish and US History, acting AP Computer Science and meeting all my high school graduation requirements as a junior. I am currently taking a full college course load as a high school senior.
Toward my goals, I was awarded the Global Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish for being in the Top 1% of performance on the Georgia STAMPS Test. I was trained in Java-Script and Python coding through the NCWIT BridgeUp STEM Scholar program at Georgia Tech– a six-week full-time computer-science program. I also completed the AgDiscovery Program at the University of Virgin Islands – a two-week residential campus program sponsored by the USDA to give the next generation of agricultural experts hands-on academic and career training.
So, to do my part to alleviate the international hunger catastrophe I will pursue a 5-year joint degree combining a BS in agriculture-focused engineering/food systems and MBA with a minor in Spanish. Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the world, it is key to communication in the American agriculture industry and I have been learning Spanish since I was in Kindergarten. Therefore, I want to continue my language studies and collaborate with multi-linguists and technologists to develop tech solutions in the international agriculture and food ecosystem.
I am passionate about this because hunger and malnutrition remain the leading threats to public health worldwide. That is what motivates me to become an Agricultural Engineer and Business Executive. And, I am committed to rolling up my sleeves and doing the work. I just started a new job at a grocery store so that I may understand consumer behavior, retail operations and the primary way people in America get their food from the farm to the fork.
In college, I plan to work for the USDA and begin a start-up that delivers solutions to the market before I graduate. I plan to complete my joint degree in three years because I already have nearly two-years of college credit completed. Upon graduation, I will assume a leadership role at the USDA, making six figures at 21-years old and contributing to global agriculture-tech solutions. I then plan to transition to the corporate sector for several years to understand corporate business operations before dedicating myself full-time to my start-up by the time I am 30 - unless my tech solutions take off sooner with significant funding and valuation.
My goal is to create a transformative food tech solution that reverses the trend of rising hunger to achieve the United Nation’s 2nd Sustainable Development Goals of 17, to end hunger by 2030.
